To subscribe to the XCultureAdopt list, send an email to LISTSERV@MAELSTROM.STJOHNS.EDU. Type "subscribe xcultureadopt (your name)" into the body of the message (without the quotes) .

What is a digest? How does it differ from single posts?
A digest is a collection of all the posts for the day sent out as a single email. When the list traffic gets heavy, this format can make it easier to manage. Single posts refer to each individual email sent to the list.
How do I switch from single posts to digest?
To switch over to digest, send an email to LISTSERV@MAELSTROM.STJOHNS.EDU. In the body of the message type: set XCULTUREADOPT digest
How do I send a personal response?
When you select "Reply" the email is automatically addressed to the list. To make a personal response, you need to paste into the "To" field the address of the person to whom you wish to respond. Each post has a "Sender" address. This is the address you will want to paste into the "To" field.
