Azerbaijan has recently opened its country to international adoption. Azerbaijan is a small country is located in the Caucus Mountains on the Western coast of the Caspian Sea with Russia and Georgia to its North. The Republic of Azerbaijan occupies a unique position at the crossroads between East and West.

AICA assists you with every step of your adoption. We will assist you with the processing of all the documents needed to complete an adoption in Azerbaijan. When your documents are gathered, they are legalized and sent to Azerbaijan to be presented to the Ministry officials for approval. During this initial approval process, you will receive a referral of a child. The referral information will include several photos and all known medical and background history. After you accept the referral, your case moves to the court and you will receive an invitation to travel to Baku, Azerbaijan to meet your child. The first trip is approximately 4 days. Then 30 days later you will return to Baku to complete the adoption process. You then travel to Moscow, Russia to obtain the US visa for the child to enter the US.

Children from Azerbaijan vary greatly in characteristics, from very fair to medium complexion. The majority of the children have beautiful, big brown eyes and light to medium brown hair. Some children have blond hair and blue eyes. Boys and girls are available from the ages of 4 months to school age.
