Gary and Debbie... Looking for a Baby to Cherish

Debbie and GaryDear Special Friend:

We are Gary and Debbie. Wow, of all the letters we have written in our lives, this is by far the most exciting, yet in many ways the most difficult too. As we write down our words in these paragraphs, it is our hope that you will begin to know who we are and how much love we have to give a child.

Four and a half years ago we met on a blind date and were instantly attracted to one another! As the evening progressed, we found out how many things we had in common, how similar our values were, and that we both really wanted the same things out of life. By the time the evening was over, we were smitten and truly felt we had found our soul mates. We dated for a few more months, fell in love and saw no reason to wait, so a couple of months later, we were married!

Our dreams & goals, Our families...

It has been our dream as well as our goal since we got married to have a family of our own and share our love and lives with a child. During the last few years, we tried many different types of fertility treatments which were, unfortunately, not successful. Some of our friends and clients have families with adopted children, and we know how happy and proud these parents are and how much their children have enriched their lives. We have discussed it often and feel that adoption is a truly loving decision; and are thrilled that this is the way for us to have the baby that we long for.

Debbie adores kids and has wanted to be a mom for as long as she can remember. She frequently babysat her younger cousins when she was a young girl and now baby-sits her cousin's kids! Gary loves being a dad. He has two grown sons from a previous marriage and knows from experience all the joys as well as the challenges of raising a child. The boys are kind, courteous and responsible young men, and we are both very proud of them. The two of us are close to our families and get together with them often. Debbie has a younger sister and brother that live in Northern California, and her aunts, uncles and cousins live within minutes of our home. Gary's parents and sons, as well as his brothers and their families, are all less than an hour or so away.

Our home, Hobbies, How we spend our days...

DebbieWe live in a cozy yet spacious home a few blocks from the beach in Southern California with our two cats "Beau" and "Pricilla". Though they each have their own funny personalities, both of them are gentle and de-clawed. Our home has many nice features, but one of the first things that made us fall in love with it was the view. It's bright and sunny, and from just about every room's window we can see our marina harbor and the main channel with the boats sailing by. We also have a heated pool and a lounge area, which is nicely landscaped and fully gated. There's a fireplace in our family/living room and a huge master bedroom suite with a second bedroom for the baby. We haven't decorated the baby's room yet but are anxious to begin, just as soon as we know the baby's gender! Ours is also a wonderful neighborhood, and it offers so many things for children. There's a beautiful park with swings and slides, a kid friendly man-made beach with calm water to splash in, lots of families, nice schools, and it was recently rated one of the safest around!

In her spare time, Debbie loves gardening, photography, and doing different kinds of art or craft projects. Gary enjoys playing piano and guitar, and on occasion even does some composing. Most of his song writing is of the "pop" variety, but he's recently written several children's songs as well. Since we both find cooking relaxing, we share in the food preparation and baking. Debbie prefers breads and cookies, while Gary takes pride in making some of the best made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls in town! Our special breakfast day is Sunday. We always make a really nice meal such as waffles or pancakes, then plan something fun to do, or just relax and enjoy the day.

Our jobs, Our leisure time, In closing...

Gary SurfingDebbie works part-time for a Dermatologist as an Electrologist in addition to owning her own home-based computer graphics business, where she sets her own hours. Gary is currently a Real Estate Broker buying and selling residential properties, and he's also an Instructor teaching Orthodontics to Dentists. Though he had a Dental and Orthodontics practice for many years, Gary made the decision to phase it out in order to have more time with his family. Our flexible work schedules make it possible for both of us to have quality time at home and raise our children ourselves. This is very important to us, since we want to be personally involved with our children's schools and activities.

Our job flexibility also allows us to do a lot of local traveling. These are a few of our favorite places and some of the sports we enjoy: Palm Springs in the Spring and Fall for golfing and swimming; Lake Tahoe in the Winter for snow play and skiing; and to the local lakes and Lake Mead in the Summer for boating and water skiing. There's usually some combination of family or friends along for these trips, and we can hardly wait to share these activities we enjoy so much with our new child!

We feel blessed to have found each other and are grateful to have such a wonderful marriage. We believe that a solid marriage and a strong sense of spirituality and devotion to God are the keys to a happy family.

In closing, we can only imagine what you must be going through at this difficult time and want you to know how much we respect and admire your strength and courage in this decision. You have given your baby the gift of life and it is with a mothers love and heart that you are seeking the very best home for your child. We hope it gives you comfort and peace of mind knowing that this baby will be cherished and raised with unconditional love and support. Please feel free to call us anytime with any questions you may have or to discuss whatever things you feel are important. It is our goal to have everything go as smoothly as possible and for everyone to be happy and comfortable with the outcome. We can be reached toll free at: 1(877)322-4404, pin #1860, or if you like you may call our attorney, Dave Baum at: 1(800) 795-2367. We hope to hear from you soon, but whatever decision you make, we wish you the very best.

With warmest regards,

Gary & Debbie
