Hello! We are Jeff and Janet Mace. We are so excited that you are getting a glimpse into our lives. Your courage and love for your child is inspiring. We are thrilled about becoming parents and hope you will see the fun, loving family we plan to share.

We met the first week of college, 1987, and have been soul mates ever since. We have now been married over nine wonderful years. We live in Waupaca, Wisconsin, a small friendly town 60 miles west of Green Bay. Jeff works at a foundry in town, while Janet is a senior claims representative at an insurance company.

I was lucky enough to marry my best friend. Jeff likes to have fun and has a wonderful sense of humor. He loves sports, and looks forward to teaching our child any sport they may be interested in. I love watching Jeff play with children as both he and they seem to take such delight in it. I can't wait to see him play with our own child. He is honest, kind and caring, and will be a great father. I feel like the luckiest man alive being married to Janet. Her kindness, compassion, and sense of wonder never cease to amaze me. Her enthusiasm is boundless, whether it's for gardening, roller blading, trading and watching Disney movies with our nieces and nephews, or decorating for the holidays. I can't wait to watch Janet holding up our child so they can put the star on top of the Christmas tree.

Family is the central theme in both our lives. Janet's parents live in the same town, and are already planning to spoil their new grandchild. Janet's brother and sister also live close by, and Christmas at our house is the event of the year, with four nieces and nephews (and a dog) opening presents. Jeff's parents passed away several years ago, but a large extended family in Illinois is thrilled at the prospect of a new addition to the family. Jeff's grandmother in Wisconsin can't wait to have a great-grandchild to rock in her rocking chair.

I love living with Jeff and Janet! They always take me for long walks around our circle, and I get to play with all the neighborhood kids. Eventually, though, they have to go home, and so do I. I can't wait until a child is living with us. I will watch over them and play with them all the time!

We both love the outdoors. In the summer, we have family and friends over for cook outs on our deck all the time. Everyone looks forward to the first deck party of the year. We love to travel, both to bigger cities, for culture, and a sense of history, and to northern Wisconsin, for fishing and relaxation. Seeing our child catch their first fish will be a thrill! (although Janet says Jeff's putting the worm on the hook!) We look forward to discovering our child's interests. Jeff loves to hunt, golf, and play softball. Janet enjoys gardening, cooking, and roller blading. In the winter, we both like curling up in front of the fireplace with a good book.

We believe that open adoption is in the best interest of everyone involved. After struggling with infertility for several years, we came to realize that open adoption is the way we were meant to build our family. We want our child to know that they were placed by you with love and care. Jeff is adopted, as are Janet's brother and sister. We think it is important that our child knows that their birthparents love them very much, and made a courageous decision to give them the best opportunities possible. Whatever your decision may be, we wish you all the best.
