Gender: Boy Age: 10 Country: Haiti Description: Gus was abandon and admitted to Notre Maison Orphanage in Port au Prince on 03/12/2002.He was severely malnourished at that time. Gus is moderately mentally handicapped and used to walk with the help of a walker but can now walk on his own! He has out grown his Otis leg braces and needs new ones, they help him walk with more stability. His eyes focuse inward. Gus can speak very slowly, usually just one word at a time. He understands English, French and Haitian Creole. Gus is a very friendly guy who is VERY happy to greet visitors! He is nice to the other kids and happy and cheerful most of the time. He plays with Junior, sometimes they get mad at each other. He has medical records and is HIV and TB negative. No family history and no visitors.
