What is a digest? How does it differ from single posts?

A digest is a collection of all the posts for the day sent out as a single email. When the list traffic gets heavy, this format can make it easier to manage. Single posts refer to each individual email sent to the list.

How do I switch from single posts to digest?

How do I switch from digest to single posts?

People aren't careful to edit the previous post so I'm getting a lot of things I've already read several times.

People are asked to include only a few lines from the post to which they are responding - just enough to clarify their response. I will write to people who regularly include large amounts or whole posts when responding and ask that they be more careful. Please be assured that I am aware when this is happening and will deal with it.

People are sending personal responses to the list instead of directly to the person to whom they are responding.

The list is reminded periodically that personal responses (including "That's great!" "Me, too" and "Welcome") should be sent directly to that person and not to the entire list. Again, please be assured that when someone is posting personal replies to the lists that teh listowner is aware of it and will deal with it.

How do I send a personal response?

When you select "Reply" the email is automatically addressed to the list. To make a personal response, you need to paste into the "To" field the address of the person to whom you wish to respond. Each post has a "Sender" address. This is the address you will want to paste into the "To" field.

How do I contact the listowner?
