American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
The AACAP, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1953. It is a membership based organization, composed of over 6,300 child and adolescent psychiatrists and other interested physicians. Its members actively research, evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders and pride themselves on giving direction to and responding quickly to new developments in addressing the health care needs of children and their families.
The Center provides specialized comprehensive bilingual (Russian/English) psychological services for preschool and school-aged children adopted from the Eastern Europe and Russia. Consultation with adoptive parents regarding the specific range of issues usually associated with international adoption is offered personally and through the Internet.

The Center for Adoption Education and Support (C.A.S.E.)
C.A.S.E. was created in May 1998 to provide post-adoption counseling and educational services to families, educators, child welfare staff, and mental health providers in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C. In addition, C.A.S.E. is a national resource for families and professionals through its training, publications, and consultations.
Center for Adoption Medicine
This site is wonderful resource for medical and developmental issues in adoption and pediatrics offered by The Center for Adoption Medicine at the University of Washington. The site is full of information on a variety of issues and physicians Dr. Julia Bledsoe and Dr. Julian Davies provide pre-adoption consultations by telephone for families adopting from abroad or domestically.
GroundWork Counseling, located in the Orlando, FL area, is made up of a dedicated group of counselors and therapists and is owned and opperated by a mother daughter counseling team. Groundwork offers a unique and specialized approach to counseling for children, individuals, families, and couples. We believe that counseling should be as unique as you are.
Courtney Rodrigue specifically works with children ages 3-14, utilizing play therapy, sand tray, and expressive arts - these process related therapies often help with adoption related challenges. In addition to child counseling, they also have counselors who specialize in parenting help, as well as women's challenges such as postpartum.�
Hope Connections Coaching
Hope Connections exists to support those who try to parent, teach, care for, love, know and relate with children who have suffered trauma, especially trauma connected with abandonment and adoption. Hope Connections offers coaching, workshops, support groups, and tools.�Services are available in-home or via phone or Skype.�You do not have to do this alone...there is hope.

I work with adopted persons, adoptive parents, birth parents, birth grandparents and pre-adoptive parents. I possess the skills to assess when challenges are directly related to adoption, when they are normal developmental issues and when they are more serious mental health disorders. As an adoptive parent and sibling to an adopted person, I understand the life long journey of adoption and all the joys and challenges it brings.

Jeanette Yoffe, MFT
A private practice in West L.A. with a special focus on adoption and foster care issues. Appointments for children ages 5-17 years of age and for traditional, single parent, gay and lesbian, adoptive and foster families. Group therapy sessions offered throughout the year for pre-teen, teenage and adult adoptees as well as a series of trainings designed for parents and therapists to share some effective parenting tools and techniques in how to cope with traumatized children.
