As I already mentioned, humor played a significant role in bringing us together. David is the funniest person I know and we spend a lot of time laughing in our house. He is also one of the most loving and involved dads! A great athlete (unlike me), he enjoys sharing his love of sports with Corey and his friends. He currently works from home and regularly picks Corey up at school to take him on bike rides, to the driving range or to a sports event. Every summer they go camping with a group of dads and their kids. But we all enjoy our couch potato moments too-like cuddling up with Corey and watching TV or playing games. It is these simple pleasures that matter most.

Teri has already told you a lot about our family but I'd like to add a few words about my wife and best friend. I don't know if I have ever met anyone with more loving energy than her. She is so warm and outgoing-the kind of person everyone goes to when they have a problem. She is a giving mother, wife and friend, always determined to make every occasion special for everyone involved. And she is not as bad an athlete as she says she is! In fact, she taught Corey how to skate and ski and I can't keep up with either of them. Teri also loves to help out at Corey's school. I wish I could give you a glimpse of her in action. She is just so natural with children. And, like me, nothing has brought her more pleasure than parenting. We love being mom and dad.

Corey is such a loving and confident boy. He is passionate about many things including being a big brother! We thought you might be interested in his feelings about our adoption plans:

Teri & David: Why do you want to adopt a baby?
Corey: I really want a brother or sister! My cousins are sometimes like sisters and brothers and we have lots of fun together. But it is not the same because they don't live with me.

Teri & David: What do you want someone considering placing their baby for adoption to know about your family?
Corey: I love to go on vacations with my family. We do lots of fun things. My dad is a really good tennis player and we played together in a family tournament. We go to baseball games and other sports things. We like to play games and read together. I like non-fiction books. We have a cool playroom with a stage to do shows. I love legos and will teach the baby to build.

Teri & David: What about your school and neighborhood?
Corey: My school is really good. It has a great playground, especially for little kids. I play soccer and little league. My friends and I like the after-school activities at the community house like hockey and carpentry. In the summer we go to the beach all the time. I know lots of kids there. We swim to the dock, dive in the pool and play volleyball in the sand.
