Several brave adoptive parents helped take down a notorious adoption scammer who was jailed this week in Macomb County, Michigan. Tara Lynn Lee was sentenced to over ten years behind bars by a judge who described her as "evil" for masquerading as an adoption professional, matching multiple adoptive parents to a birthmother and matching hopeful parents to birthmothers who didn't even exist. Operating as Always Hope Pregnancy Center, Lee was unlicensed and totally unfit to be working with adoptive families She scammed adoptive parents out of at least $2.1 million, often through elaborate stories featuring false text threads and communications.
