Dee Thompson

Dee Thompson is a lifelong writer with more than thirty years of experience as a freelance writer, journalist, marketer, and paralegal. She writes articles, blogs, essays, books, and marketing content, with a particular love for personal storytelling and narrative nonfiction.

Dee holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Tennessee and is the author of six books, including the novels Return to Marietta, Heart of My Own Heart, Leaf Season, and Ghosts in the Garden City, as well as the cookbook What’s for Dinner, Mom? and the children’s book Jack’s New Family. In 2020, she edited and published Singing to the Cows, a collection of her mother Elva Thompson’s writings.

She has blogged since 2005 at The Crab Chronicles, where she has documented family life, adoption, and everyday moments with honesty and humor. Dee lives in Atlanta and enjoys cooking, reading, walking her dog Lola, and watching movies.
